Pennsylvania law requires all student transportation drivers to pass a Child Abuse History clearance, FBI fingerprinting, and criminal background check. The checks cost about $60 in total, paid directly to each provider, and Altrip reimburses you $100 after your first month of active driving. We guide you through every step.
First StudentThe whole process and all documentation are completed through the official First Student portal. These are the documents the school district requires, not Altrip.

Meet your route Document Preparer by video or phone call. We review the school calendar and student needs, then assign you a route from what's available in your zone. Once you accept it, that route is yours for the whole school year: same route, every day.
